This grammy poster is representational. I love this poster because it very complex but yet from afar looks simple. It is the image of singer rihanna's face, but constructed in different typefaces. This ad for the grammies is brilliant because the representation is done strategically in the lyrics which denotes the grammies and what it's about. This artist has taken a simple idea and represented it in a clever way.

This poster is an example of symbolism. In it you see the lightbulb that denotes energy with a tree inside which signifies the idea of nature/natural. The graphic of a tree has recently became a symbol for "save the earth" "help the earth" campaigns, so the fact that it is placed inside the lightbulb the viewers understand the posters message even if the text wasn't included. This poster is simple yet very affective because of the symbols displayed.

This cover for juxtapoz magazine shows a abstract interpretation. The magazine introduces known and upcoming artists and their whole purpose is to express their ideas in abstract ways. This graphic is a abstract interpretation of a female under stress or confusion. When someone is overwhelmed they do show similar facial expressions, but of course don't have any pigs, fish or any other random things spinning around their head. This cover is successful because it gives the viewer a idea of what the rest of the magazine has to show. It gives you an idea how the artist views "real situations" in his or her own way.
